About Authentys

Individuals and companies are increasingly relying on LinkedIn and other social media sites to provide background on an individual’s education and other important credentials. An individual’s listing of the credentials they hold on these media sites is currently only supported by that individual’s claim that they possess the listed degrees and certifications. Verification of the truth of “What you have done” is a key, missing component of social media.

Authentication of these credentials today is a very time-consuming manual process, requiring each entity desiring authentication to independently request it directly from the credential issuer and the credential issuer generally manually processing the request and the authentication being returned as paper documents via U.S. postal service mail. Physical copies of certifications when provided are not truly secure and are at risk of further circulation and distribution to others not authorized by the recipient.

Authentys allows users to own secure wallets which hosts authenticated credential contract token. The wallet is linked to a secure server where the encrypted documents can be stored, “making what you have done” a permanent record that the user controls. This gives the user the ability to decide who can access their credentials and when.
